I used a white poster as the backdrop for all of my photos. I leaned it against a wall so it curved over the floor with a smooth edge. The wall was in front of a large window providing lots of natural light. I took the pictures around 5 o'clock so the sun was still largely in the sky. I took pictures of jellybeans because I I loved the contrast of the colorful arrangement they provided against the white paper. I organized them in different intricate patterns before I took the pictures. The jellybeans represent diversity and how we can all come together the for greater good (the patterns are more organized and pleasing to see) or stay apart and suffer the consequences (disorganized and confusing). I thought this would be a subversive way to represent the importance of compassion and empathy among different groups.
