The forth picture down on the right side is a portrait of a girl named Ella. She is a junior at Skyline High school and plays on the Women's Water Polo team. She is short with light brown brown hair and green eyes. The look on her face is one of judgement, which was the inspiration for the title of my piece. I took this photograph on the Skyline pool deck right after morning practice. My motivation for this was to capture the average high school female in a negative situation. We were tired and just finished a long swim set. Her facial expression accurately describes the feelings an aquatic athlete has for morning practice. I focused on making her mouth the center of the picture to follow the rule of thirds. There was a light right above the area I photographed her so it was harsher then natural lighting. There was a formal balance to the photograph because she was standing straight against a wall. The hardest part about this project was finding an area with a plain background, all the walls at my house are textured and I don't know how to make a paper backdrop. Overall I'm proud of the focus in my pictures and the amount of light and shadow displayed in the photograph.
